I recently came in for a filling, something I usually dread, but Dr. K and Kenia made it easy. They worked so quickly, and I felt ZERO pain. Even during the novocaine shots, not even a pinch! The filling was in a tough spot, but they did amazing work and made sure my bite was unaffected. Prior to the filling, she had kept a close eye on it for a while, and only recommended the filling until she was absolutely certain it was the best treatment option.

I recently returned to San Diego after a few years and wouldn’t even consider going to another dentist. Dr K and her staff remembered my kids by name and immediately recalled procedures that she had done many years ago. She’s quick to call or email with updates to her schedule and always works around my job and the kid’s school. She explains what she’s doing at each appointment and what she’ll need to do for the next appointment. I never leave wondering what’s next or how much it’s going to cost. Dr. Shadi Kastenholz at Black Mountain Family Dentistry is absolutely fantastic. She first helped me in an emergency situation when I had broken two teeth and went above and beyond to make sure I received the very best treatment and outcome. I have had more painful and stressful cavity fillings than her repair of multiple teeth. Every visit I have had with her and her team since then has only been better.

This was my first dentist experience, I never got my teeth fixed in my life but Black Mountain Family dentistry did a really great job making my teeth look great. Office staff and hygienists are fantastic!!  Dr K is exactly what you want in a dentist - honest, conservative treatment.  She explains what you need and why, without judgement or pressure.  I found her to be very fairly priced, as I've needed some care that was not covered by my insurance.  I also appreciate her patience and attention to detail - she helped me work through a problem with my crown and wouldn't settle until it was perfect. Shadi has been our family dentist for the last two years, I've done two crowns and multiple cavities with her. Always happy with the results. She will treat you like family. 
They do a great due diligence to make sure you get the most benefits out of your insurance and there would be no surprise bill. I also got a great referral for root canal.
